Document Your Project

Confluence Wiki

What you can do

Your project has its own space on the OpenSpaces.org wiki. You can contribute and modify documentation by editing and adding pages in the project wiki space. You might also be able to add project news, by clicking Post project news under the Captain's Log on the left (only if you get permission from the project captain).

Finding it

The project homepage is linked from your project's entry in the Projects List.

Communicate with Others Regarding Your Project

Jive Forums

What you can do

Your project has its own dedicated forum. You can post on the forum, and possibly also moderate the forum (if your project captain gives you permission).

Finding it

  • For the Forums homepage, on the main menu bar, click Forums.
  • For a direct link to your project's forum, visit your project's wiki space, and click Forum in the project links on the left.

Track Issues, New Features and Feature Requests

JIRA

What you can do

Your project has its own JIRA project. Within this project, you can assign issues, be assigned issues by others, and change the status of issues (for example, resolve an issue). You can also create new issues, edit issues, and vote on issues, like all Community Members.

Finding it

  • For the JIRA homepage, on the main menu bar, select Projects > Issue Tracking.
  • For your project's specific JIRA project, select it on the JIRA homepage, or visit your project's wiki space and click Issue Tracking in the project links on the left.

Usage instructions

  • To learn how to manage issues in JIRA, see the JIRA User's Guide.
  • If you are having trouble accessing JIRA or you can't see your project, contact the OpenSpaces Admin.

Browse SVN Repository and Review Code

FishEye

What you can do

Browse the SVN repository and view source code, both for your own project and other projects, using the FishEye browser.

Finding it

  • On the main menu bar, select Projects > Source Insight.
  • For a direct link to the source code of your specific project, visit your project wiki space, and click Source Insight in the project links on the left.

Store and Manage Source Code

Subversion

What you can do

Your project has its own directory on the OpenSpaces.org Subversion repository. In this directory, you're permitted to commit, check in and check out code.

Finding it

  • For the Subversion root, on the main menu bar, select Projects > For Developers > Subversion.
  • For a direct link to your project's Subversion directory, visit your project wiki space, and click SVN in the project links on the left.

Build and Test Source Code

Bamboo

What you can do

Your OpenSpaces.org project has its own project in the Bamboo Continuous Build Server; you might be able to schedule builds and run project test cases (if you get permission from the project Captain).

Finding it

  • For the Bamboo homepage, from the menu bar, select Projects > For Developers > Build Server.
  • For your project's specific Bamboo project, select it on the Bamboo homepage, or visit your project wiki space and click Build Server in the project links on the left.
