End-User Guide

Who is an End-User?

Anyone who visits OpenSpaces.org and wants to download and use software developed in the open source projects.

You do not need to register or sign up to be an End-User on OpenSpaces.org.

Downloading Open Source Software

Visit the list of OpenSpaces.org Projects, find a project that interests you, and click the link to the project homepage. The project homepage contains links to project downloads (if any exist yet), as well as documentation.

Getting Support for an OpenSpaces.org Project

If you encounter a problem with software developed in an OpenSpaces.org project, and can't find the answer in the project documentation, try one of the following:

  • Visit the project forum. You will find a link on the project page.
  • Visit the OpenSpaces.org issue tracking system (JIRA). As an End-User, you can browse the issue tracking system to see if someone raised an issue similar to yours.

If you want to post issues to the issue tracking system, you will need to register to the site and become a Community Member.

Joining the Community

Being an End-User is all good and well, but it's much more fun to join the OpenSpaces.org community. As a Community Member you can join discussions about active projects, post problems and feature suggestions to the issue tracking system, and participate in reviewing and selecting new OpenSpaces.org projects.

To join the community, all you need to do is sign up to the OpenSpaces.org website! For more information, see Join the Community.
